The Baroque military fortress is one part of the stately fortification complex, that was named after the Empress Maria Theresia. Almost from the beginning of its history, Terezín was used as a prison. Widely known as a Prague Gestapo´s prison in 1940-1945. The Terezín Monument was established in 1947. Examples from the exhibition : the Small Fortress, the Ghetto museum, the Magdeburger barracks with the exhibition „Music, art, literature and theatre in the Terezín Ghezzo“, typical prison cell from the times of the Ghetto, crematory, films screening etc.
