Town: Liběchov
The original fortress dates back to the 14. century. It was rebuilt in the 2. half of the 16. century as a Renaissance chateau surrounded by a wide water moat. Many personalities became chateau owners. It was rebuilt in 1720 – 1731 as a family summer seat. This adaptation was lead by F.M. Kaňka. The famous sculptor M.B. Braun and the painter V.V. Reiner took part in it. At the beginning of the 19. century, there was a Classicism alteration – this time the interiors were decorated by the painter Jan Navrátil. The chateau became ramshackle during the lifetimes of the following Liběchov´s owners.
